2017 RBC TORONTO-QINHUAI LANTERN FESTIVAL

Over 2000 GTA Residents Enjoyed the Light-up Celebration on Feb. 11th

On Feb. 11th, the Lantern Festival in the Year of Rooster, 2017 RBC Toronto-Qinhuai Lantern Festival Light-up Celebration took place at 1500 Birchmount Road. Over 2000 Torontonians gathered to celebrate this Chinese traditional festival together. More than 500 handmade Qinhuai lanterns in the shape of water lilies, monkeys, rabbits, dragonflies, lions, crabs..., and about 300 Chinese red lanterns were hanging from the ceiling of hallways and entertainment rooms. The themes designed for 2017 RBC Toronto-Qinhuai Lantern Festival included: the pond under the moon, the house guarded with lions, Chinese traditional sports, Jiangsu scenery photography exhibition, Chinese traditional arts and crafts, the wall of lucky red envelops and so many more.Read More...

JIANGSU PAINTER PEI ANNIAN PAINTINGS DONATED BETHUNE MEMORIAL HALL

Assistant Director of the Ontario-Jiangsu Friendship Association Li Jing made a special trip to the Barker Memorial Hall of the National Park of Canada to donate Chinese painting works by Jiangsu painter Pei Annian.

Canada Ontario-Jiangsu Friendship Association strives to promote cultural and educational exchanges between China and Canada, especially in the cultural and educational exchanges between Ontario and Jiangsu provinces.Read More...

Team Mississauga - Business Mission, led by Mayor Hazel McCallion, visited Nanjing City, Jiangsu Province. Nanjing Vice Mayor Mr. Jin Dao Qiang presented gifts to Mayor Hazel McCallion.

OJFA set up Jiangsu Branch Office in Nanjing City, Jiangsu Province, P.R. China.

 

 

October, 2006    

Ontario Ministry of Citizenship and Immigration presented the Certificate of Recognition to OJFA for promoting economic and cultural exchange between Ontario and Jiangsu.

October, 2006 June-July, 2006

Ontario Minister of Economic Development and Trade Sandra Pupatello and Executive Vice Governor of Jiangsu Province Zhao Kezhi formally established the Ontario-Jiangsu Business Council.

OJFA, in collaboration with Toronto Chinese Business Council, East-Toronto Business Council, Scarborough & York Chinese Business Council and Chinese Chamber of Business in Canada, successfully organized the "Conference on Investment Environment of Nanjing".

Jiangsu and Ontario were celebrating the 20th anniversary of the establishment of Ontario-Jiangsu twinning relationship in Nanjing City, Jiangsu Province.

Li Yuanchao, Party Secretary of Jiangsu Provincial CPC Committee and Chairman of the Standing Committee of People's Congress of Jiangsu Province, was invited to visit Canada. His visit marks the beginning of a new phase in the continuous development of Ontario-Jiangsu partnership.

Mr. Huang Wenchu (Commercial Counselor of Canadian Consulate General Shanghai), the then Director of the China Section of Ontario Ministry of Economic Development and Trade and the Canadian Director of Ontario-Jiangsu Science & Technology Centre was invited to do the presentation on how to take advantage of Ontario government resources. The presentation attracted over 150 people in various lines of business and received heated responses from the audience.

Ontario-Jiangsu Friendship Association was one of the over 100 Chinese community organizations that organized the Chinese Canadian Parade on July 1, 2003, celebrating the 136th Canada Day. It formed a 200-people procession square featuring life in southern part of Jiangsu Province. The event was fully supported by Jiangsu Provincial Overseas Chinese Affairs Office and Jiangsu Overseas Chinese Federation. They donated to OJFA 100 southern Jiangsu style parasols and 60 shirts, ties and other accessories made of Nantong printed calico. The colorful parasols and Nantong printed calico depicted a beautiful sketch of the culture of Jiangsu Province.

Mr. Zhao Shaolin, Senior Advisor of Jiangsu Provincial Govenment led Jiangsu Exchanging Delegation to visit Toronto. Ontario-Jiangsu Friendship Association held a banquet in honor of Mr. Zhao Kezhi and his delegation.

Conference on Investment Environment of Lishui County, Jiangsu Province' was held in Hilton Hotel, Toronto. Ontario-Jiangsu Friendship Association took the full responsibility for organizing the Conference.

Mr. Ji Yun Shi, the Governor of Jiangsu Province was invited to visit Toronto. He was giving a speech on the welcome banquet held Ontario-Jiangsu Friendship Association.

Ontario-Jiangsu Friendship Association was established.

Mr. Chen Huan You, Party Secretary of Jiangsu Provincial CPC Committee was invited to visit Ontario.

 

 

Jiangsu Governor Gu Xiulian and Ontario Premier David Peterson signed the Friendship Accord on exchange and cooperation in business, culture, education, science and technology between Jiangsu Province and Ontario.
