Ontario-Jiangsu Friendship Association often organizes all kinds of recreational activities, for example, annual Spring Festival Gala, to provide opportunities for old friends from Ontario and Jiangsu to renew their friendship. OJFA is also a member organization of All-Canada Federation of Chinese Canadians and the Confederation of Toronto Chinese Canadian Organizations. It takes an active part in Chinese community activities for enhancing unity among Chinese Canadians and improving the social status of Chinese Canadians.

Jiangsu Province is the industrial and business heartland in eastern China. In the last decade, a large number of professionals working in a variety of fields have immigrated to Canada from Jiangsu Province. The Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of Jiangsu provincial government and Jiangsu Overseas Chinese Federation are very concerned with their life and work in Canada. OJFA serves as a bridge, facilitating communication between the Chinese Canadians of Jiangsu origin and the two organizations. It has also received a number of delegations from the provincial Overseas Chinese Affairs Office and Jiangsu Overseas Chinese Federation.

From July 2-9, the Nanjing Municipal Overseas Chinese Affairs Delegation headed by Mr. Yan Jianjian, the Director of Nanjing Municipal Overseas Chinese Affairs Office visited Canada. Ontario-Jiangsu Friendship Association held a banquet to extend a warm welcome to the Delegation.

On February 1, 2004, OJFA organized the Spring Festival Gala celebrating the Year of Monkey. The Gala was characterized by self-entertaining, that is, all the programs: singing, dancing, playing music instruments, poetry recitation etc. were performed by OJFA members. Besides, all the food at the Gala was prepared and cooked by the members themselves. In the course of the celebration, participants sang Karaok and highlights from CCTV (China Central Television) Spring Festival Gala was broadcasted.

The Delegation exchanged ideas with OJFA concerning overseas Chinese affairs. The Counselor of Overseas Chinese Affairs of Chinese Consulate-General in Toronto, Mr. Jiang Dianchang (Second from left, front row), Chairman of OJFA, Dr. Li Ningyu (middle of the front row) and other members of OJFA attended the meeting and the banquet.
