VARIOUS SCENERIES SHOWING DIFFERENT VIEW OF JIANGSU

“Jiangsu is a very beautiful place in China that I would love to visit someday soon. It is a place I never knew existed, however I am very thankful that I do now. I am very excited to see its wonders in Person.” Kala (Right) and Armin are looking forward to traveling in Jiangsu after visiting "Charming Jiangsu" photography exhibition, which was held for four days from Feb.19th to the 22nd at the Scarborough City Hall in Toronto, attracted local people from different ethnic groups to stop by and enjoy.

From Chinese Canadian born in Canada to immigrants from different countries, from pedestrians to staff working in the Civic Centre, from local photographers traveling around the world to 88-year-olds born in Hong Kong but ancestral home Jiangsu, from local high school students to retired engineers, everyone enjoyed those beautiful photos so much as to forget to go home.

2019 Toronto “Charming Jiangsu” photography exhibition is co-organized by Jiangsu Overseas Exchange Association and Ontario-Jiangsu Friendship Association (OJFA), a non-profit organization officially registered in Ontario in 2000. The Exhibition offers a peek into the historic and contemporary Jiangsu, its ancient civilization and rapid development in the past decades. The unique environment consisting of riversides and coasts nurture the province’s water town culture featuring traditional connotation and great potential for growth. It highlights the vitality and charm of Jiangsu from different angles. The photos, with traditional culture and modern civilization enhancing each other's beauty, serve as a bridge to strengthen exchanges and enhance friendship between the people of countries in the world and Jiangsu.

A viewer commented, “The photo exhibition is amazing. This is a good way to show Chinese culture and beauty to Toronto people.” Among dozens of Jiangsu photography displayed, spectators have different preference. Some like the "Suzhou Four Seasons Garden", while others appreciate the "Nanjing Eye" in "Sky Road"; some feel that the scenery of Maoshan Reservoir "The Dyed Forest" is amazing, while others marveled at the 2,500-year history of the "Remains of Yancheng City" site…

It is reported that this photo exhibition of "Charming Jiangsu" was exhibited at the 7th Toronto Qinhuai Lantern Festival on February 18 and the Scarborough City Hall on February 19-22, both achieved good results. According to volunteers at exhibition sites, thousands of people have contacted, watched or learned about the beauty and variety of Jiangsu through photo charity sale, videos and photography exhibitions. Many viewers hope that there could be more such exhibitions and willing to travel to Jiangsu for sightseeing, investing and creating a better tomorrow together.

While the “Charming Jiangsu” Photography Exhibition brings Jiangsu to Ontario, Dr. Julia Li, President of OJFA encourages Ontarians to visit and invest in Jiangsu, Ontario's sister province in China. She believes that the twinning relationship between the two provinces entered in 1985 has opened up a huge space for cooperation and borne fruits. Adhering to dialogue, exchange and cooperation will bring greater development and prosperity to both provinces.
